EDGECAM Featured at Morris Florida Tech Center Grand Opening & Haas Factory Outlet Open House March 28-29, in Tampa, Fla.
The innovative EDGECAM computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) solution, by Vero Software, will be featured March 28-29 at the grand opening of the Morris Florida Technical Center and Haas Factory Outlet Open House, in Tampa, Fla.Live machining of parts programmed with EDGECAM will take place at the event on three machine tools, including a Haas VF-4 with a 5-axis rotary table and a Haas ST-15 2-axis lathe with robot focus. EDGECAM’s specialized Waveform turning cycle will be featured on a Haas mill-turn machine.
“The Tampa Haas Factory Outlet has completely remodeled its facility, which now includes a new, larger training room, more show room, and more machine offerings, such as Tsugami lathes,” said Steve Harrison, owner of EDGECAM reseller Silverhawk Solutions.
Among EDGECAM’s time-saving capabilities is the Waveform roughing strategy, a high-speed machining cycle that is available for milling and turning and delivers consistent tool-engagement with the material, thereby maintaining constant tool-cutting load. By generating smooth toolpath to avoid sharp changes in direction, EDGECAM Waveform maintains machine-tool velocity while decreasing cycle time and increasing tool life.
EDGECAM’s Rough Turn cycle now features a new Ramp Cut strategy, which is typically used for turning deep recesses with double- sided turning inserts, and extends tool life as the contact point on the insert is constantly changing, avoiding notching. The new strategy can be used with decreasing cut increments.
