OEMs Choose Vero Solutions at Leading Russian Exhibition

A number of machine tool suppliers chose RADAN, Radbend and EDGECAM, from Vero Software, to drive CNC machines on their booths at Russia’s leading metal manufacturing exhibition, Metalloobrabotka 2017.

And Vero’s distributor across Russia, CIS and the Baltic countries – Dreambird – is working closely with them on creating partnerships to supply software packages with their machines.

One of them, Balt-System, is already developing an integrated solution based on EDGECAM. Deputy Director Andrey Kostenko says they are taking a new approach on machining that combines CAM technology with a Balt-System CNC machine for milling, turning, multi-function and 5-axis centres.

“Our goal is to achieve a close integration of the EDGECAM CAM system with our CNC machine tool. While the component is being machined, a programmer will be able to take measurements on the machine, returning the data into EDGECAM, which can decide if any changes are required.

“There won’t be any manual programming, plugins or macros needed as everything is located in a single environment, and is fully automated. The new CAM system is based on the EDGECAM engine, and is currently being developed at Vero’s headquarters in the UK.”

Dreambird’s Marketing Manager Ada Lakevich says they held several meetings with OEMs during the Moscow-based Metalloobrabotka exhibition. “And a number of them used RADAN, Radbend and EDGECAM to drive a variety of CNC machines on their booths. The trade fair was ideal for us to showcase the software’s abilities to generate NC code and demonstrate it in practice, to the show’s visitors.”

She says the show attracted visitors from around the world to see the newest metal manufacturing technologies from over 900 exhibitors, representing 32 countries.

“Metalloobrabotka is Russia’s largest trade fair dedicated to machine tools and modern technologies.”
