C-CAM To Show EDGECAM’s Strategy Manager and Waveform Roughing at intec
EDGECAM’s module for automating NC programming, and its revolutionary roughing strategy which “pushes the boundaries of traditional milling,” are both being highlighted at the popular intec exhibition in Leipzig, Germany.
The software’s exclusive reseller in eastern Germany, C-CAM GmbH, will be featuring Strategy Manager and Waveform Roughing on Booth A80 in Exhibition Hall 1 at the show, which runs from February 26 to March 1, at Messegelände, Leipzig.
Strategy Manager’s core comprises an easy-to-use graphical flow tool for building flexible strategies to machine solid models. A few simple steps produce a strategy comprising consistent, repeatable G-code, reducing programming time. Once created, the relevant strategy is pulled up from a menu and included in the program, simplifying manufacturing processes by automating the sequence of operations.
EDGECAM’s Waveform Roughing strategy has been designed to maximise material removal rates while prolonging both tool and machine tool life. It produces rough milling toolpaths that deliver shorter cycle times, greater tool life, better surface finish and are kinder to machine tools. Manufacturers using it say it “pushes the boundaries of traditional milling.”
As well as Strategy Manager and Waveform Roughing, C-CAM will also be demonstrating EDGECAM’s enhanced user interface which makes the software even easier to use, along with the improved options for 5-axis simultaneous milling, and its capabilities for mill-turn machines.
In addition, they will show how EDGECAM integrates seamlessly with the SolidWorks CAD system, and are hosting two presentations: using EDGECAM to demonstrate the benefits of machining with up to date CAM software; and how EDGECAM Strategy Manager and macros can automate the machining process.
The C-CAM stand will also feature the latest racing car produced by students at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg. Many of the car’s components have been manufactured using EDGECAM.
intec is now held at the Leipzig tradefair site every two years, attracting machine tool manufacturers and other suppliers to the manufacturing, tool and special-purpose machine construction industry. At the 2011 show C-CAM gained more than 100 strong, quality leads, which led to many new customers joining their EDGECAM “family,” from a wide range of industrial sectors, including mechanical engineering, medical, automotive, and the toy industry, along with research institutes and schools and colleges.
